AAA Hudson Valley offers driver safety training courses and materials to help you and your family stay safe on the road.


Defensive Driving: Driver Improvement Program

AAA Hudson Valley provides a six hour New York State DMV approved Point & Insurance Reduction Program at our Albany office. A certificate for insurance reduction will be given at the completion of the class. AAA notifies the DMV of your completion of the course. The DMV will note your eligibility to receive the point reduction which may take up to 8-10 weeks to appear on your driving record. Learn more about points reduction from the DMV.

5-hour Pre-licensing Course

This course is for those individuals who have their permits and wish to advance to the road-test phase. This class is required by the DMV and individuals completing the class will receive a certificate that is good for one year.

Traffic Safety Media Library

Videos and DVDs are available on a free loan basis to schools, employers, civic organizations and church groups.
