A much-anticipated addition to the New England attraction landscape, Legoland New York finally opened to the public in May 2021. Located on 150 acres in Goshen, NY, Legoland only requires a short two-hour drive from Albany. Even better, the route to Legoland New York takes you on a scenic drive down Interstate 87, through Hudson, New Paltz, and Newburgh with views of the Bluestone Wild Forest and the Minnewaska State Park Reserve.

Once you arrive at Legoland, you are fully transported into an experience that is sure to bring out the kid in anyone. Legoland New York consists of seven themed lands:

  • Brickstreet: This entrance to Legoland acts as a main street into the park.
  • Bricktopia: The rides and activities are all about building with Lego.
  • Lego Ninjago World: This world features everything Ninjago, including rides and activities.
  • Miniland: This zone features miniature, detailed models of real cities, including Las Vegas and NYC.
  • Lego Pirates: Ships and splash battles abound in this pirate-centered land.
  • Lego City: This urban environment is made entirely of Lego.
  • Lego Castle: Dragons, Merlin, and more are in this fantasy land based on the Lego Castle toy.

Each land has its own attractions, including rides like the Duplo Carousel and attractions like the Ninjago Training Camp. There is something for guests of all ages and interests — as long as one of those interests is Lego, of course.

Legoland Events

While there is plenty to do any day at the park, special events can help visitors plan a trip at the right time to enjoy special experiences.

Legoland Ninjago Weekends

In the Lego Ninjago world, a group of teenage ninjas battle against evil. During Lego Ninjago Weekends at Legoland New York, visitors can meet and greet their favorite ninja characters, take part in Lego build activities, participate in a scavenger hunt, and experience five different live shows. The cost of Lego Ninjago Weekends is included in admission to the park.

Legoland Brick-or-Treat

Not all kids are ready for the scares that many theme parks offer as part of their Halloween events. At Legoland, the whole family can enjoy the holiday with Brick-or-Treat. Each weekend in September and October, Legoland New York features special characters, brand new Halloween-themed live shows, and lots and lots of candy.

Legoland Holiday Bricktacular

In December, experience the twinkling Lego lights of the Legoland New York Bricktacular. With holiday-themed shows and characters, special decorations, and plenty of holiday spirit, it’s the place to be for holiday cheer.

Legoland Hotel

Many families will want to spend more than one day at Legoland New York, so spending the night is an option. The Legoland Hotel is located on the park premises and makes it easy to get to the park ahead of the crowd during popular times. For true Lego fans, the hotel offers themed rooms like Lego Kingdom, Lego Ninjago, and Lego Pirate. Guests are also treated to nightly entertainment that’s suitable for all ages and can take a dip in the pool during the warmer months.
