In selected areas, weather permitting, AAA can also provide roadside battery testing and replacement. A trained specialist will test the battery and the vehicle charging system at no cost to you.

If you’ve left your lights on, you’ve left your car door open, or there’s some other easily-explained reason why your car battery is dead, AAA can send a service driver to jumpstart your car and get you back on the road.

If your car battery is currently dead and you expect it to be fixed with a simple jumpstart, contact us by calling 1-800-AAA-HELP (1-800-222-4357). We’ll send a service driver directly to you, as quickly as possible. Jumpstart service is one of the many options available for AAA members’ four service calls per year. Learn more about what’s included in our plans on our membership page.

If the battery needs to be replaced, you can purchase one on the spot at a discounted price. Your service driver will install your new battery for free. AAA will also take your old car battery and recycle it for free. AAA service vehicles carry batteries appropriate for approximately 90 percent of all cars, SUVs and light trucks on the road.

All AAA car batteries include a 72–month limited warranty and 36–month free replacement warranty, honored nationwide.
