Headed down to Walt Disney World Resort this spring? The ever-popular Flower & Garden Festival at EPCOT is back this year, but the timeline is a bit shorter than it has been in the past two years. If you are planning a trip this spring, you’re in for a real treat – especially if you’ve never attended.
Topiary Displays
While the park is usually very ornate and decorated in theme, horticulture teams and event teams work together closely to create the perfect backdrop for springtime selfies. Disney character topiaries are quite often the focus, as you can find them all throughout the park. This year, EPCOT’s entrance will welcome guests with a new display featuring characters from the new Disney animated film Wish. New to topiaries this year is Guardians of the Galaxy’s Groot outside of Cosmic Rewind in World Discovery. Another debut is Coco’s Miguel and Dante at the Mexican Pavillion inside the World Showcase. Global Gardens are exhibits that feature nonnative flowers and sustainable foods found all throughout the park. These include Butterfly Landing Presented by AdventHealth in World Nature near Imagination! and the new China Penjing Garden in the China Pavilion.
Outdoor Kitchens
In recent years, the addition of limited-time food booths has taken the festival to another level. This year, 18 Outdoor Kitchens have been announced with fresh menus, seasonal produce and refreshing beverages. Highlights include Pineapple Promenade, Near Port of Entry, where you can help yourself to the festival classic Violet Lemonade. Another Flower & Garden must-eat is Frushi served up at Hanami in the Japan Pavillion. Besides the benefit of even more delicious cuisine available in a park that already offers so much for the palate, one really nice thing is that Disney provides an allergy guide for all guests with restrictions. Many food requests can be accommodated.
